Pedal Jam promotes active living and community connection

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — Get to know your neighbors and get active this weekend with the return of Pedal Jam!

Organized by the nonprofit Strengthening African Resilience towards Excellence (SARX), the event invites families on a bike ride to promote healthy, active lifestyles and making community connections.

Participants will bike 10 miles from Oak Grove Park in Brooklyn Park to the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park and back again.

The event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16., with the ride getting underway at noon. The cost to participate is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 18. The event features free backpacks and other giveaways.
